Commissioned by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art, this was a one-day performance, searching for electromagnetic fields in Corby Cube. I attached electromagnetic pick-up coils to my hands, and mapped the building according to the strength of the fields. I used British Sign Language to sign “BUZZ” or “HUM” as appropriate at each location. The hand gestures moving through the static fields caused the amplified sounds to fluctuate, creating a soundtrack specific to the particular location.
