TECHNICAL ERROR! Huge apologies to the participants of today’s 1.30pm session, but we are unable to post a recording because BOTH of the audio recorders failed. It’s a great shame, because this was a lovely event with moments where everyone spotted the same bird at once after a few seconds of silence. We spotted gulls, pigeons, and ‘birds’.

At 57 seconds into the VERY QUIET birdwatch a group of about 20 people dressed as blackbirds ran squawking into the gardens and around the fountain. I PROMISE this was not part of my work!

Arrived at 9.10am to find about 15 people doing One Minute Birdwatching on their own, because they’d mis-timed the start of their next event. I’m glad the instructions are spreading: it is supposed to be something you can do wherever you are and it was nice to see that in action.
